Betty's profile

'Black and white purist'

Betty was trained by Joanne and has been working with the JoAnne Dunn Photography team for 5 years. She speaks a tiny bit of English and is very eccentric, but in a good way that will add colour and a little bit of drama to your wedding day. She takes her artistic cues from Italian arthouse cinema and the black and white photography of the heyday of Italian decadence in the 1930s. Think Fellini's La Dolce Vita; that blindingly white kitten and Anita Ekberg's luminous hair contrasting wildly with the gloom of night-time Fontana di Trevi. Now imagine yourself in the same dramatic lighting... Betty's most intriguing idiosyncrasy is that she hates flash or colour images. Black and white is how she sees the world-and all the milky chalk, slate and charcoal shades in between. Betty's specialty is reportage photography, and catching you unawares to produce intriguing and surprising photos. Her tiny little frame will stalk you like a hunter, searching for the magical angles and lighting effects that will make your black and white photos sparkle. And, like a hunter, she will not give up until she has shot you looking drop dead gorgeous. Betty's special predilections will give any wedding album a touch of old world glamour. But just because her photos are a traditional black and white, don't expect her to looks to correspond with her old world image. In fact, they do quite the opposite! It is another of her delightful little quirks. In fact, perhaps it would be wise to warn any frail and elderly relatives about the tattoo before they arrive for the service ... You wouldn't want their high blood pressure giving you trouble on your special day, now, would you?
